The team behind it (the developers) goes by the name Valhalla Project.

VALHALLA launches quickly, uses modest disk space and remains responsive even under high latency.

Yes, VALHALLA will always remain free-to-play and open-source.

The Valhalla Project is committed to keeping its games and assets as open as possible to encourage players and community involvement. Contributions from the community are always released under open licenses so that everyone can build upon and benefit.

In the future, there is a possibility of introducing paid DLCs to support the game. These would include extra content created exclusively and would never rely on community contributions. Even then, the core game will remain free-to-play and open-source.

If you would like to support the project directly, donations are always welcome.

It depends on what we mean by "campaign": the short answer is most probably yes, but it can mean different things at different times.

The game is primarily focused on social and multiplayer-based mayhem, even if it's fully playable offline too as we support local multiplayer and bots. Alongside the core game, a progressive challenge mode against bots is planned: think of it as a form of campaign that helps you learn the mechanics, gradually increasing the difficulty of the challenge as you improve.

If we're talking about story-driven campaigns, things are a bit different. The full game will have a strong narrative element as we've built a rich lore that will be present throughout the experience, starting with the tutorial levels. In that sense, story elements are already baked into the game from the beginning, so this is definitely a campaign-friendly step forward.

Regarding the possibility of story-driven campaigns, we have internally discussed developing smaller story-driven campaigns (possibly playable solo or cooperatively) that explore different parts of the world we built. These may be released as optional DLCs after the main game is out in a more complete form, but there are currently no concrete plans as these projects will require extensive manpower and resources, limiting the development of the multiplayer experience.

Expect the game to officially release on Steam once the game exits the beta stage.

In the meanwhile, the game is available on Itch.io, GitHub, GameJolt and IndieDB.
It may also become available to wishlist on Steam soon, so keep an eye out!
